Our Story
Our Story:
Ashley and Obi are Olympians and long time teammates who were inspired to create RecruitHer to increase young women’s participation in college athletics and to improve their experiences.
In exploring this topic, they learned that in the NCAA female student athletes experience challenges such as unmet expectations, mismatched team culture, and a lack of resources at their athletic programs at higher rates compared to their male counterparts. In addition to this, many young athletes and their families have expressed that there is limited information available on how to navigate the athletic recruiting process. They decided to tackle this issue through the creation of RecruitHer as a way to give back to the next generation of female athletes.
Our Mission:
We want to demystify the athletic recruiting process to empower young women to make informed decisions about their future athletic and professional careers. By offering blog content and recruiting consultations, our goal is to help young girls navigate the recruiting process and life as a student-athlete. RecruitHer’s content is written by former and current student-athletes. We hope that more young women have the chance to pursue college athletics and reap all the benefits that it has to offer.
